All I can really remember from last week is that I got a new phone. After struggling through the last 10 months with a 4 year old iphone I upgraded. Did I upgrade to the new iphone? No. I got an honor 6x for $180. I just could not bring myself to spend 800 to 1000 dollars on a phone when I could get everything I need for around 200. Also, I prefer android to iOS. It ended up being an easy decision. The pic above is from the new phone.

The pond has completely dried up. As I write this dark clouds are filling the sky and we have a high chance of storms tonight. I sure hope we finally get some. For some reason, once a year, in the fall, they mow down all the plants that grow up around the pond. I have no idea why. While I was out for a walk and talking on the phone I realized I could just walk right on out to the dry pond bed. I wandered around the cracked dirt and talking. I jogger running by stopped and looked at me like I was crazy. I waved at them. I took a few pictures.

A small winged friend joined me on one of my daily walks. About half a mile from home a small butterfly started flying around me. I assumed it would fly away, but it staid with me the whole way home. It would circle around me and every once in a while it would land in front of me. It was a nice way to start my day.

We Get a Bit of Rain
We did finally get some rain on Monday. By some, I mean a lot. We got a couple of inches in an hour. It half filled back up the retention pond. But, it hasn't rained since so it has all dried up again.
